Starting October 18th, 2 riders, Matthew Kessing and I, will complete
more than 2,200 miles in 20 days of riding over 24 days. To put this
in perspective, the 2010 Tour de France will cover 2,257 miles in 20
days of riding over 22 days. Unlike “le Tour”, we will be using most
of each riding day at a more deliberate pace to cover distance rather
than the 25mph averages delivered by the pro peloton. What we lack in
speed we will make up with efficiency as we ride self supported;
managing our own food/water, mapping our route, and resolving our own
mechanicals.
